Chrono Warfare Getting Started

Chrono Warfare is a Roblox tower defense game set across human history. After the Time Machine is overused, anomalies corrupt eras, and the Time Lord recruits you to place towers against those threats. This getting-started guide is written for brand-new accounts and for Evolution Evade veterans who must start over — no data transfer is coming.

What kind of game this is

You defend a path by buying, placing, and upgrading towers between waves. Enemies escalate through Normal, Hard, and Impossible difficulties inside each era. At launch, BoringGames lists Prehistoric Times and Ancient Civilizations as the playable eras, with community clears already covering Ancient Egypt and Colosseum modes. The experience is marked unfinished, so expect UI polish, balance patches, and new eras over time — track them on launch updates.

First launch checklist

  1. Open the official Chrono Warfare experience from BoringGames Studio.
  2. Let the lobby fully load. Note the era select, shop, and settings icons (details in Controls).
  3. Start Prehistoric Times on Normal. Do not jump to Impossible on day one.
  4. Place cheap early towers at the first major bend or choke rather than spraying the whole map.
  5. Upgrade damage on your strongest lane holders before buying every shiny unit in the shop.
  6. After the clear, bank credits toward a planned purchase from the best towers list.

If you played Evolution Evade

Carry the habits, not the inventory. Chokepoint thinking, early economy discipline, and saving for Impossible still matter. Do not assume old tower names, missions, or All Age routes exist unchanged — Chrono Warfare is a sequel with its own story world, and the studio explicitly says EE is not canon here. Rebuild using era progression instead of muscle memory alone.

Your first economy plan

Early credits are scarce. Follow a simple loop:

  • Clear Normal for comfort and map knowledge.
  • Clear Hard for better payouts once leaks stop.
  • Attempt Impossible only with a practiced placement from tower placement.
  • Farm intentionally with credits farming when you need a specific unlock.

Avoid spending every coin the moment the shop unlocks a mid-tier unit. Many launch players stall because they own too many mediocre towers and cannot afford upgrades during spike waves.

Learning the two launch eras

Prehistoric Times teaches basic pathing, early ground threats, and the value of cheap starters. Use the prehistoric walkthrough after your first Normal win.

Ancient Civilizations raises pressure with denser enemy mixes and modes like Ancient Egypt. Tackle it after you can stabilize Prehistoric Hard. The Ancient Egypt walkthrough covers solo triumph pacing.

Unlock goals worth chasing early

Pack Hunter is already a high-interest unlock — see how to get Pack Hunter. Beyond that, chase whatever the prehistoric towers page marks as efficient, then revisit the tier list after each patch.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Starting Impossible with a Normal loadout.
  • Placing towers with overlapping wasted range while leaving the entrance undefended.
  • Ignoring air or stealth cues when a new enemy type appears (react by reading death chat / wave labels and adjusting).
  • Buying cosmetics before completing your first Hard clear.
  • Trusting random “codes generators” instead of the codes hub.

A clean first-session route

Minute 0–10: lobby + Controls practice.
Minute 10–35: Prehistoric Normal clear.
Minute 35–50: review placement mistakes, sell bad towers in the next run.
Minute 50–70: Prehistoric Hard attempt.
End session by updating the era checklist and noting one tower to farm next.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which era should beginners play first?

Prehistoric Times on Normal. Learn placement there before Ancient Civilizations or Impossible.

Is Chrono Warfare finished?
